Website design & development — Concordia, Kansas

Websites for businesses that don't have time to think about websites.

I build and look after sites for shops, contractors, clinics and nonprofits across north-central Kansas. The kind people find on a phone, read without squinting, and call you from.

Services

Four things, done properly.

01

A new website

Built around what people actually need to do — call, book, apply, order, or find your hours. Fast on a phone, readable at any age, and easy for you to update once I hand it over.

02

Fixing the one you have

Often you don't need to start over. Layout, photos, wording, mobile, speed. I work in Wix, Squarespace, WordPress and Shopify as well as custom builds.

03

Keeping it running

Updates, backups, broken links, new photos, seasonal changes. Someone to text when something looks wrong, instead of hoping it sorts itself out.

04

Getting found on Google

Your Business Profile, map pin, hours and page copy set up so that when somebody nearby searches for what you sell, your name comes back.

Process

Three steps, no mystery.

Step 01

We talk

Coffee, phone or email. You tell me what's not working. I tell you what it costs and how long it takes. No charge for this part.

Step 02

I build it

You see a real working version early, not a slideshow. Half up front, half at launch, so you never pay for something you haven't seen.

Step 03

It goes live

I move it over, check nothing broke, and show you how to change what you'll want to change. Accounts, domain and files are all yours.

Pricing

Numbers you can take to a board meeting.

Every project is quoted in writing before anything starts. These are starting points — a five-page site for a shop costs less than one with booking and a staff directory.

  • New websitefrom $1,500
  • Refresh of an existing sitefrom $600
  • Monthly upkeepfrom $75/mo
  • Google Business setupfrom $250

Questions

The things people ask first.

How long does a site take?

Most small business sites take two to four weeks from the day I have your content. The part that slows projects down is almost always waiting on photos and copy, not the building.

Do I own the site when it's finished?

Yes. The domain, the hosting account and the files are in your name. If you ever want to work with someone else, you hand them the logins and walk away. Nothing is held hostage.

Can I update it myself?

That's the goal. I set things up so the parts you'll actually want to change — hours, photos, staff, prices — are editable without touching code, and I walk you through it before launch.

What if I already have a website?

Then we start by figuring out whether it's worth saving. Sometimes a refresh gets you 90% of the way for a third of the cost. I'll tell you honestly which one your situation calls for.

Do you work with nonprofits?

Yes, and often. Board approval takes longer than a single owner deciding, so I build that into the timeline and keep scope and revisions written down clearly from the start.

Are you local?

Concordia. I'd rather meet in person for the first conversation if you're within driving distance, and plenty of this work goes better over a table than over email.

Tell me what you're working on.

Whether you know exactly what you want or just know the current site isn't cutting it. I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit.
